CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — After going into executive session during Wednesday’s Harrison County Commission meeting, commissioners passed the motion to look for a new location for a farm complex.

Commission President Susan Thomas told 12 News that this project has been a long time coming, but that a few properties have already fallen through. In the meantime, she hopes that the complex will hold longevity.

The complex was originally intended for the Livestock Association’s youth livestock sale that happens annually. Currently, the association is using a location in Summit Park, but Thomas believes that location has been outgrown.

“I’m just speaking for myself; my hope is that this grows into something else other than just a livestock sale. We can have horse shows, and I hate to say a fair but maybe someday something on that level would be nice if we could find a piece of property large enough to do that,” said Thomas.

The meeting’s agenda listed a location in Meadowbrook which was denounced due to unknown complications with the property. Thomas mentioned that the next location the commission is looking into is on Route 98.
