Stolen vehicle crashes during chase in Marion County

FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WBOY) — A chase involving a stolen vehicle and Marion County Sheriff’s deputies ended with a crash Thursday.

The Valley Volunteer Fire Department said in a post on its official Facebook page that it was called to the scene of an accident near the intersection of Millersville Road and Pleasant Valley Road just before 6:30 p.m.

The driver of the stolen vehicle hit a deputy’s cruiser and rolled over, leading to an ejection, the post said; the deputy was not injured.

The Marion County Rescue Squad took the driver to the hospital for treatment of their injuries, the fire department said.

The area of the accident was closed while crews cleaned up and investigated.
