    Man charged after fiberoptic internet lines damaged in Preston County

    BRANDONVILLE, W.Va. (WBOY) — A City of Kingwood police officer in training at the West Virginia State Police Academy has been charged after Preston County deputies say he fired multiple shots in Brandonville, damaging Prodigi’s fiberoptic internet lines on Saturday.

    The damage is estimated to be more than $2,500, the Preston County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.

    Chase Waugh, 21, was arrested and charged with felony destruction of property, the release said.

    Stolen vehicle crashes during chase in Marion County

    He is currently being held at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond, the release said.
