    Inmate indicted for allegedly assaulting correctional officers at FCI Gilmer

    GLENVILLE, W.Va. (WBOY) — An inmate who is accused of injuring four correctional officers in Gilmer County during an altercation was indicted on Wednesday.

    According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of West Virginia, Mark Harken, 42, who was an inmate at Federal Correctional Institution Gilmer in Glenville, West Virginia, was indicted on four counts of assault of a correctional officer resulting in bodily injury.

    Information about the extent of injuries was not provided.

    4 people indicted in relation to Harrison County homicide

    Harken faces up to 20 years for each of the four counts, the release said.

    According to the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) website , Harken is now being housed at Federal Medical Center Devens in Massachusetts, which is an administrative security federal medical center with an adjacent minimum security satellite camp.

    Before this offense, his projected release date was in November of this year, according to the BOP.
