CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WOWK) — West Virginia Governor Jim Justice says that on Monday he will be calling a special session of the State Legislature.

Justice said he plans for the special session to take place sometime toward the end of September. The goal, he says, will be to “deliver another personal income tax cut, implement a childcare tax credit, and address other important issues.”

Earlier this summer, the governor announced that he wants another 5% cut to help attract out-of-state workers to move here.

West Virginia voters will consider amendment to ban physician-assisted suicide

Late last month, dozens of advocates for childcare, and their kids, rallied outside and inside the West Virginia Capitol building . They want childcare tax credits to make it more affordable for families, and they also hope the state provides more subsidies to keep struggling childcare providers in business.

Why call a special session? That costs money to do. Can't do your job during regular times?
