    Marion County I-79 exit will be closed next week

    PLEASANT VALLEY, W.Va. (WBOY) — Starting Monday, one of the Fairmont area exits on Interstate 79 will be closed.

    The West Virginia Division of Highways announced that the northbound exit ramp for exit 135, which is at Pleasant Valley Road, will be closed during the day from Monday, Sept. 9 to Thursday, Sept. 12.

    The closure will last from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, according to the release, while crews replace the ramp deck and pave.

    The southbound exit ramp and the entrance ramps will not be impacted.

    Crash closes I-79 South in Harrison County

    The road work at the Pleasant Valley exit is part of an ongoing I-79 widening project in Marion County. The north and southbound lanes are expected to be completed by summer of 2025, according to the WVDOH’s website .
