CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — A man has now been charged with murder stemming from a death in 2022.
According to a criminal complaint filed by the Bridgeport detachment of the West Virginia State Police on Sept. 9, on May 25, 2022, Brock Pearson, 42, of Meadowbrook, “deliberately [struck] Juan Kas Trechsel-Valerio in the head with a hammer and then retrieved a firearm and shot him multiple times, killing him.”
Currently, Pearson is being held in the McDowell County Stevens Correctional Center, where he is serving a term for a 2022 wanton endangerment charge from Harrison County. His intake date at the correctional facility was Sept. 1, 2023, and he has been housed there since then, according to the West Virginia Regional Jail Association website.
On June 6, 2024, Pearson also pleaded guilty to a federal charge of “possession of a short-barreled shotgun,” which carries a term of up to 10 years in prison, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office website. Pearson is scheduled to be sentenced on that charge on October 28.
No date for a trial has been received at this time in connection to the 2022 murder charge.

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — A woman has been charged in connection to a 2022 murder in Harrison County.
According to a criminal complaint filed by the Harrison County detachment of the West Virginia State Police on Sept. 9, on the date of May 25, 2022, Candi Blake, 39, “feloniously, unlawfully and willfully assisted and gave aid to Brock Corel Pearson after Pearson murdered Juan Kas Trechsel-Valerio.”
Troopers stated that Blake “gave assistance to Pearson with intent that Pearson avoid detention, arrest, trail and punishment,” and that Blake and Pearson “set fire to an outbuilding with the victim’s remains inside.”
On May 26, 2022, Blake and Pearson “attempted to further conceal the victim’s remains by wrapping the remains in blankets and covering it with dirt,” according to the complaint.
Blake has been charged with accessory after the fact and concealment of a deceased human body. She is being held in North Central Regional Jail on $400,000 bond.
As of publication, there are no court records for Pearson in connection to this incident. 12 News has reached out to the West Virginia State Police and Harrison County Magistrate Court, who are still in the process of obtaining information.
