On Sept. 3, troopers with the Doddridge County detachment of the West Virginia State Police responded to a disturbance call taking place at a residence with a Pennsboro address located in Doddridge County, according to a criminal complaint.

When troopers arrived, they spoke with an individual who witnessed the incident who said that Robert Moore, 22, of Pennsboro, had “a .22 rifle” during an argument with Arizona Nicholson, 27, also of Pennsboro, troopers said.

Troopers then searched the residence for the rifle, noting that the “residence was in deplorable conditions,” with “trash on the floors throughout the residence, exposed wiring, used toilet tissue and diapers piled in the floor,” according to the complaint.

At the time of the incident involving the rifle, troopers noted that two young children were in the care of Moore and Nicholson and were present in the residence.

Moore has been charged with wanton endangerment and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. Nicholson has been charged with two counts of child neglect. They are being held in North Central Regional Jail.

Unfortunately, there are many times children are left in this condition after cps is called on multiple occasions. The truth is, we have a drug epidemic in this state. On top of that, other government assistance services are unattainable for people who need them and the people who manage to receive them abuse them. All of this leaves children in deplorable conditions. Our elected officials are well aware of this and worry more about padding their pockets than they do about the people in this state. They keep getting elected though. We keep seeing education, wages, cost of living, etc all showing WV at the bottom ranking in the country year after year. At some point people need to open their eyes and see that WE need to start stepping up and make a change. VOTE them out. Go to board and council meetings. This is why our kids graduate and leave enmass, like mine will!

Filth is not an appropriate atmosphere for children! Clean up your act or give your kids up, give them a chance!
