    Preston High School will have increased security at Friday home football game after threats Thursday

    KINGWOOD, W.Va. (WBOY) — Preston High School’s home football game will continue as scheduled, despite multiple threats made to schools and students in Preston County on Thursday .

    Preston High School dismissed from school early and Central Preston Middle and Kingwood Elementary were on “precautionary hold” throughout the day on Thursday because of the threats. A juvenile was arrested in the case , Preston County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Thursday evening.

    Although Preston County Schools had a remote learning day on Friday, Preston High School said on social media Friday that all extra-curriculars, including the home football game against Fairmont Senior, will continue as scheduled. The post said that the sheriff’s department “advised that by having the juvenile in custody that no credible threat to the community is believed to exist at this time.”

    Justice urges investigations into school threats

    The school said it has already secured additional security for the game, the post said.

    The Preston Knights come into the game with a 0-2 record. The kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
