STONEWOOD, W.Va. (WBOY) — Two people were charged after allegedly admitting to going to Washington, D.C. to get Subutex to sell for “$25 a pill” in Harrison County.

On Sept. 11, officers with the Stonewood Police Department responded to a residence to speak with an individual in reference to an active warrant against a woman for possession of a controlled substance, according to a criminal complaint.

Due to the information provided by the individual, identified as Gary Gump, 40, of Stonewood, officers were able to place the woman with an active warrant into custody, officers said

While that woman was processed, she advised that she, Gump and Tiffany Hardman, 48, of Stonewood, “had transported Subutex pills into the state … for the purpose of selling them,” according to the complaint.

In an interview, the woman said that on Sept. 7, she, Gump and Hardman “went to D.C.” … “and were prescribed Subutex pills at a clinic” and that the woman “witnessed Gump and Hardman sell the Subutex pills that they get from D.C. on several occasions,” officers said.

After receiving consent to search the woman’s phone, officers “were able to locate messages between her and Gump discussing the trip to D.C., the sale of Subutex pills and money,” according to the complaint.

On Sept. 11, officers spoke with Gump and Hardman, who agreed to meet at the Stonewood Police Department; during that time, Gump “did admit to going to D.C. and getting Subutex pills” and told officers that “he has in fact sold Subutex pills in the past for $25 a pill,” officers said.

Officers then spoke with Hardman who gave consent for officers to search her residence. Officers located 100 buprenorphine pills in a bedroom shared by Gump and Hardman, and Hardman told officers “that she has sold 1- of the Subutex pills since they returned from D.C. for $25 a pill,” and had $200 in her purse “from the sale of said pills,” according to the complaint.

Gump and Hardman have been charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. They are each being held in North Central Regional Jail on $15,000 bond.
