Man arrested after vehicle pursuit through Monongalia, Preston counties

KINGWOOD, W.Va. (WBOY) — A Kingwood man was arrested following a vehicle pursuit through Monongalia and Preston counties.

A press release from the Preston County Sheriff’s Office states that deputies were requested to assist Monongalia County authorities Friday night with a vehicle pursuit “in which a police cruiser was struck and the vehicle was suspected to be traveling into Preston County.”

When Preston County Deputies located the suspected vehicle on Kingwood Pike and attempted a traffic stop the vehicle “fled in a reckless manner toward Kingwood, traveling upwards of 85 mph at times while on three operational tires” according to the release.

The pursuit ended west of Kingwood where 20-year-old Issac Hartshorn of Kingwood was arrested for fleeing with reckless indifference and fleeing while DUI.
