CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — The Harrison County Mayors Association met Wednesday evening at Clarksburg City Hall where it discussed funds received from the opioid settlement and how they can be used in the communities.

“Everybody wants to help the outlying communities, you know, Bridgeport is fortunate to have this, and Clarksburg is fortunate to have that, Lost Creek has this, Anmoore has that. So, when we come together and have collective minds it helps so we can help each other,” the President of the Harrison County Mayors Association Jim Malfregeot said.

Malfregeot said that Clarksburg has utilized some of its opioid funds to help with recovery programs and Cameras in neighborhoods to help the police department. The City of Clarksburg also has a grant match application on the city website .

Also, during the meeting, the mayors of each were in favor of holding trick-or-treat on Thursday, Oct. 31 from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. However, Anmoore officials have said that the city’s trick-or-treat time would be from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m.
