RIVESVILLE, W.Va. (WBOY) — An SUV flipped over in Rivesville Thursday evening, delaying traffic in the area.

According to an official with the Marion County 911 Center, at around 5:37 p.m., crews were alerted to a vehicle accident with entrapment near the 7/11 location in Rivesville. A photo from a 12 News viewer shows that the vehicle in question was a black Honda and landed in the southbound lane of traffic.

I-79 South will be closed another ’24 to 48 hours’ after acid spill

911 officials told 12 News that nobody was transported from the crash, but that the crash did temporarily shut down the road. Traffic has since reopened as of 7:10 p.m.

This delay comes amid a full closure of the southbound lanes of I-79 in Monongalia County due to an acid spill Wednesday afternoon that required a full repaving of the road.

Crews from the Rivesville Police Department, Rivesville Fire Department and the Marion County Rescue Squad responded to the call.
