FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WBOY) — Students who attend the Barrackville Elementary/Middle School in Marion County will not report on Friday due to a main water line break and boil water advisory.

The Marion County Schools, WV Facebook page posted Thursday afternoon that the school will be closed “as we await water test results from Barrackville.”

Will Hurricane Helene hit West Virginia with storms?

An email from the City of Fairmont said that the water department is working to repair the water line. Water samples will be collected for bacteriological testing and results will be determined in 24 hours.

Those in Barrackville and surrounding areas should be aware of possible low water pressure, loss of water or water discoloration. Water should not be consumed unless it has been boiled first.
