    These West Virginia counties are under State of Preparedness for Hurricane Helene remnants

    CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WOWK) — Twenty-two counties in West Virginia are under a State of Preparedness for possible remnants from Hurricane Helene, according to a proclamation from Gov. Jim Justice (R-WV).

    Will Hurricane Helene hit West Virginia with storms?

    These are the counties, according to that proclamation:

    • Boone
    • Braxton
    • Cabell
    • Clay
    • Fayette
    • Greenbrier
    • Kanawha
    • Lincoln
    • Logan
    • McDowell
    • Mercer
    • Mingo
    • Monroe
    • Nicholas
    • Pocahontas
    • Putnam
    • Raleigh
    • Randolph
    • Summers
    • Wayne
    • Webster
    • Wyoming

    Hurricane Helene is expected to be a major hurricane once it makes landfall on Florida’s northwestern coast Thursday evening, according to the Associated Press.
