CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — A man who was released on bail from a West Virginia jail last week is now accused of stabbing his father in the chest in Pittsburgh, killing him.

Christopher Hudak, 28, was arrested and charged with felony fleeing from law enforcement showing a reckless indifference to safety of others on Sept. 19. While driving a lime green Dodge Charger, he allegedly reached 120 miles per hour during a police chase on Interstate 79 that started in Harrison County and continued almost 100 miles before he was detained in Kanawha County, according to a criminal complaint filed in Harrison County.

According to the West Virginia Judiciary website, he was released on $25,000 bail on Sept. 20.

On Monday, Sept. 23, he was arrested again in Pittsburgh and charged with criminal homicide for allegedly stabbing his father to death. NBC affiliate WPXI reported that Christopher Hudak was taken to the hospital with a hand injury. A neighbor told reporters that the victim, 64-year-old James Hudak, was the suspect’s father.

Appeal denied for Preston County murderer

The stabbing happened around 3 p.m. Monday at the 2100 block of Lucina Avenue, which is in the Overbrook area of Pittsburgh.

Neighbors who spoke to WPXI called the Hudaks “nice people” and said that they were “shocked” and “can’t believe it.”
