MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — More than 60 WVU students have been forced to temporarily relocate following a water break in Stalnaker Hall Wednesday evening.

According to WVU’s Executive Director of Communications April Kaull, parts of Stalnaker Hall experienced flooding after a water supply line running to a toilet on the upper floor failed. Damage assessments are still underway, but Kaull said that water has affected rooms on floors 1-3.

Due to water damage, the students affected by the flooding have been temporarily relocated to Lyon Tower on WVU’s Evansdale campus.

Kaull told 12 News that WVU’s Facilities Management, Environmental Health and Safety, University Police and Housing and Residence Life teams were involved in the response to the incident. She also said that the school does not yet have a timeline for completing the assessment, nor does it have an estimate as to when remediation and repairs will be complete.
