FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WBOY) — Tygart Valley United Way hosted its annual reception at Prickett’s Fort State Park on Thursday, where it honored its Leadership Giving Society members, Emerging Leaders, and Women United groups.

United Way’s Leadership Giving Society recognizes individuals who make an annual personal gift of $500 or more in support of a local United Way campaign. During the reception, four donors who had given $10,000 to United Way were inducted into the Senator Society with their names inscribed on a plaque.

“About 25% of our campaign is through leadership giving, and you know, the agencies that rely on our campaign every single day they’re out there saving lives and changing lives. And these individuals really are the ones who make that change possible,” Tygarts Valley United Way CEO Brett White said.

The support given to Tygarts Valley United Way supports 42 programs and 30 health and human service agencies across all five of its counties, which includes Marion, Randolph, Taylor, Barbour and Tucker counties.
