    PHOTOS: Tropical Storm Helene leaves damage across southern West Virginia

    GHENT, WV (WVNS) — Tropical Storm Helene made its way into the Mountain State on Friday, leaving behind damage for residents and utility crews across southern West Virginia to clean up.

    Below are photos and videos sent in by viewers that show damage caused by Tropical Storm Helene.

    Tropical storm brings record-breaking temperatures to West Virginia

    Running floodwater was seen in the Bluefield area of Mercer County, WV on Friday.

    Fallen trees were also seen across parts of Fayette County, as seen in the photo sent by Randall Patterson from the Meadow Bridge area.

    Below are photos sent from Michele and Mike White from Bluefield, Virginia after a tree fell on their property.

    Trees were also blocking multiple roadways in Bluefield, West Virginia.

    Crews continue to work to remove debris off of roadways, as shown by the photo below that was submitted by Darla Crane.

    Utility crews across southern West Virginia are also still working to restore electricity to homes in the region, as more than 20,000 customers in Mercer County and others had lost power during the storm.
