    UPDATE: 2 hospitalized after wreck, fire on I-79 in White Hall

    WHITE HALL, W.Va. (WBOY) — 911 officials in Marion County have confirmed that two people were taken to the hospital following a vehicle wreck and fire on Interstate 79 Friday afternoon.

    Officials confirmed that the two people transported were taken by ambulance. They also confirmed that the road has fully reopened in the area.

    WHITE HALL, W.Va. (WBOY) — A vehicle accident involving a fire caused delays Friday afternoon on Interstate 79 near White Hall.

    Details are limited at this time, but at around 2:08 p.m., crews in Marion County were alerted to a vehicle accident with injuries near the 131.5 mile marker. Pictures submitted by a 12 News viewer show one of the vehicles with a heavy amount of smoke.

    West Virginia 511 data shows that traffic is heavily backed up in both directions, but officials with the Marion County 911 Center said that the northbound lanes are open and one southbound lane is open as of 2:58 p.m.

    Crews with the Monongah Volunteer Fire Department, Valley Volunteer Fire Department, West Virginia Division of Highways, Marion County Rescue Squad, the White Hall Police Department and the West Virginia State Police were alerted to this call.
