NUTTER FORT, W.Va. (WBOY) — In recognition of the 12th annual Freedom Day USA, several different dental offices around north central West Virginia are offering free dental services over the next few days as a way to say thank you to the U.S. Military.

On Monday, Wilson Martino Dental’s offices in Bridgeport, Buckhannon and Elkins, as well as The Smile Defenders in Nutter Fort participated in this event. According to dental hygienist Paige Wright at The Smile Defenders, the offices saw active military personnel, veterans, and their families.

Some of the different services offered included free fillings, x-rays, cleanings, and other same-day dental work. “I think this is important for veterans to do this every year,” said Wright. “They get work that they might not be able to get done any other time.”

Wright added that many different local businesses pitch in for this event, providing coupons for free meals, services and discounts. “It kind of just helps us show them support for everything they’ve done for us too,” she said.

Freedom Day USA will continue to honor Freedom Day through Friday, Oct. 11. More than 225 West Virginia businesses are participating in this year’s event, and a full list of participating locations can be found here .

Freedom Day USA will also be recognized on Oct. 11 at Wilson Martino Dental’s Fairmont and Morgantown offices, as well as TLC Dental in Sabraton from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
