MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — A St. Louis teen has been apprehended by law enforcement after allegedly making terroristic threats to Morgantown High School back in August.

According to a release from the Morgantown Police Department, on Aug. 28, officers were made aware of a social media post circulating online that threatened a shooting at Morgantown High School and depicted firearms. Detectives began an investigation into the post alongside Monongalia County Schools and the FBI and were able to identify and interview the subject of the threat the same day that it was discovered.

Investigations and interviews determined that there was no active threat to the school or any of its students. Investigators found that the subject of the threat was Nickolas Vadim Moore, 18, of St. Louis, Mo. and that the weapons seen in the post were airsoft guns.

A warrant for Moore’s arrest was then obtained by the Morgantown Police Department, and Moore was later arrested on Sept. 20 by the St. Louis County Police Department in Missouri. Moore was extradited to West Virginia on Oct. 4 where he was processed and arraigned in Monongalia County Magistrate Court. He was later released on a $30,000 bond.

In the days after the threat was discovered, Monongalia County Superintendent Eddie Campbell Jr. told 12 News that Moore was never a student of Morgantown High School or had any connection to Monongalia County Schools, but that he did have some type of relationship with a former Monongalia County Schools student. This student left Monongalia County Schools while they were in middle school and now lives in Upshur County.
