MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — West Virginia University’s highly-anticipated matchup against No. 11 Iowa State is just days away, with the team set to don its new all-black “Coal Rush” uniform for the first time ever. Here are a few local locations where fans can get the jerseys for themselves.

WVU’s Deputy Athletics Director for External Affairs Matt Wells told 12 News that starting Thursday, Oct. 10, officially-licensed Coal Rush jerseys will be available to purchase at WVU’s Team Store located on Patteson Drive in Morgantown. Doors open at 10 a.m.

Other Morgantown locations that sell official Coal Rush jerseys include The Book Exchange, also located on Patteson Drive, Dick’s Sporting Goods located at University Town Center and Alumni Hall in Suncrest Towne Centre. Prices start at $130 at all locations.

Official Coal Rush jerseys are also available for purchase online via Fanatics, but will not arrive in time for Saturday’s game. However, Wells said in a social media post last week that WVU plans to wear the Coal Rush uniforms for “several years,” giving ample opportunities for fans to wear their jerseys to games.

Regardless of whether or not they can obtain a jersey in time, fans attending Saturday’s game are asked to wear black, and the Mountaineer Mascot has even received a slight uniform change of his own to reflect that game’s theme of coal and the coal mining industry.
