    New Life Skills Center dedicated in Clarksburg

    CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — On Wednesday, Ullico Incorporated and Hope Utilities held a dedication ceremony for a new Natural Career and Life Skills Development Center to be located in Clarksburg.

    The Edward M. Smith Natural Career and Life Skills Development Center will serve as a state-of-the-art training facility for the future workforce in the energy industry. Hands-on training for natural gas and hydrogen will be available to students, ensuring continued safety for communities. The training center’s layout will include a “safety town” which will recreate real-life scenarios for training purposes.

    “We’re excited right, this, the jobs in West Virginia are important to everyone but these jobs which are good family-sustaining pay jobs right are really important. So, we’re excited that this creates hope here in West Virginia. You know one of our themes is West Virginia is for hope. Hope Gas right, we love the name hope, but really, we want to create hope for the next generation,” President and CEO of Hope Gas Morgan O’Brien said.

    The projected start date for the construction of the Edward M. Smith Natural Career and Life Skills Development Center is by the end of 2025.
