MORGANTOWN W.Va. (WBOY) — Antero Resources presented a gift to Scouting America on Thursday that will help with its activities in the Morgantown area, an F-150 truck.

The truck will go toward helping maintain Camp Mountaineer after the previous truck was put out of service. Antero has been supporting Scouting America for a while, and the truck came about because officials heard there was a need.

“When we found out that Camp Mountaineer’s truck was disabled and no longer working, we believe we had a solution, and in fact we looked around our fleet vehicles and found what we believe is going to be a very fitting vehicle for the camp to use,” Antero Resources Regional Senior Vice President Kevin Ellis said.

Camp Mountaineer is a more than 1,000-acre camp for scouts from throughout the region to do outdoor activities like climbing, zip lining, shooting and boating.

Antero said that it’s had a number of employees and their families who have been scouts and was happy to contribute to the development of the young adults in Scouting America.

After Scouting America was given keys to the truck, they said they were very gracious for the gift.
