WHITE HALL, W.Va. (WBOY) — Ace Hardware in White Hall is extending helping hands outside of the store by giving back to a local children’s hospital.

On Friday a fundraising event was held outside of its storefront to help raise money for Dustin M. Burdoff Foundation and WVU Medicine’s Children’s Hospital through Children’s Miracle Network.

During the fundraiser, Ace sold its signature chocolate bars, raffled off Yeti gear and gave away free barbeque to showcase a few of their grilling items.

12 News spoke with Ace Hardware’s manager Lauren Pyles on why the store chose to give back in this way.

“It’s important to give back in these ways because we’re helpful inside the store every day, but we want to be helpful outside the store as well.”

Ace will have its donations boxes for the Children’s Miracle Network and the Dustin M. Burdoff Foundation inside the store. Shoppers will also have the chance to round up the prices of their purchases as donations, and if you buy the candy bars 50% of all the profits go towards the Children’s Miracle Network as well.
