    Man charged after 3-year-old hospitalized for ingesting substance believed to be THC oil in Worthington

    WORTHINGTON, W.Va. (WBOY) — A man was charged after a 3-year-old child was hospitalized for ingesting a substance believed to be THC oil in Worthington.

    On Sept. 26, deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Department were notified of a medical incident taking place on Hutchinson Drive in Worthington, according to a criminal complaint.

    While en route, deputies were informed that a 3-year-old child had “ingested an unknown substance but could have possibly been THC oil” while under the care of Daniel Duncil, 44, of Worthington, and another individual, deputies said.

    Due to ingesting the substance, the 3-year-old child “became unresponsive to the point of hospitalization,” according to the complaint.

    Duncil has been charged with child neglect resulting in injury. He is being held in North Central Regional Jail on $2,000 bond.
