BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WBOY) — A new city manager has been named in Bridgeport as of Thursday evening.

Mayor Andy Lang and other members of the Bridgeport City Council held a swearing-in ceremony for Patrick Ford at the Bridgeport City Council Chambers. Harrison County Circuit Court Judge Christopher McCarthy swore Ford into his new position.

Ford told 12 News that with this position, he hopes the people of Bridgeport know he is always approachable.

“You will see my mobile phone readily available and advertised approach me. I’m not unapproachable. I am accessible. If you see the light on in my office after hours knock on my window, I am truly here to serve this community and this community has given so much to me and I just want to do my part to give back,” said Ford.

Those in attendance at the event were also welcome to enjoy refreshments and socialize with each other.
