BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WBOY) — WV Fitness 24 in Harrison County held its annual Trunk-or-Treat for the Harrison County Humane Society on Sunday, where all proceeds the gym received will go towards the shelter.

The gym’s general manager, Nolan Tucci, said they were able to raise more than $1,000 dollars for the shelter and fill a large truck full of pet food and toys. There were also contributions from the majority of the 60 businesses at Sunday’s event.

There were a variety of costume contests, face painting, rock climbing, raffle prizes where the proceeds went to the Humane Society, and much more.

“That’s kind of our goal, is obviously for the humane society but to collaborate with the local businesses and we all promote each other and kind of grow together,” Tucci said. “When we started at noon, we had a line all the way down the street, we ran out of candy and had to get some more so it was a great event.”

Tucci added this was the biggest turnout the Trunk-or-Treat has ever had, with an estimate of almost 2,000 people attending the event.

The gym’s next big community event will be in April.
