SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — With Easter next Sunday, some Easter-themed traditions were underway over the weekend.

People hopped out of bed Sunday morning and headed to Cooper’s Seafood Restaurant in Scranton to meet the easter bunny for brunch.

The annual event gives the community a chance to meet the beloved hare in a more casual setting, with some good food.

Cooper’s laid out a hearty morning spread, including an omelet station, baked ham, and blintzes with fresh berries which kept people lining up for more.

The brunch included entertainment and baskets filled with treats for every child.

“I really love Easter and I think it’s a good holiday,” a child at the event said.

“We love it, we love doing it. The staff, the bunnies, they love doing it. But it’s for the kids, the kids come in here and they have such a great time,” said Cooper’s Seafood Restaurant Catering and Event Manager Janet Strelecki.

Cooper’s has been hosting Easter Bunny Brunches for nearly 30 years.
