SIMPSON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Oprisko Kielbasa in Lackawanna County has also been bustling with business ahead of the holiday.

The store in Simpson is known for its traditional smoked kielbasa.

The owners say around the holidays they serve about 600 pounds of sausage.

Shoppers were in and out all afternoon.

The owner and his parents bought the shop in 2016 from its original owners.

“Last batch will go in tomorrow, last 300 pounds and you know everybody in the local area NEPA Kielbasi is just so good so once you find your flavor, just make sure you get to your store hopefully not on the last day and hopefully they’re not sold out,” said Oprisko Kielbasa Owner David Rupp.

“Their smoked is delicious. We’ve tried lots of different kinds. Everything is fantastic. They always have something new to try, but the smoked is definitely the best around here,” said customer Christine Misiura.

Other popular flavors include spicy, and sweet kielbasa.

    It's a greasy, salty meat. I don't get it.
