After the horrendous, snowy winter of ‘93/94, we were left with weeks of make-up days. By God, those students were taking weak spells, experiencing nausea or vomiting or literally collapsing in the classroom but every second of instructional time was made up to the last possible day in June. Not only was the quarter extended but so was the school day from 8 AM to 4 PM by mindless bureaucrats in Harrisburg. It was all about funding. Today that would be considered child abuse. Are these early outs going to affect funding? Anything goes today.

Went to public school in Scranton for 13 years. Never had air conditioning in a single building. Now, all of a sudden, we can't go to school but we don't have air conditioning.
