    Firefighters battle Hazle Township blaze

    HAZLE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Fire crews battled a tough fire in Luzerne County Tuesday night.

    According to the Hazle Township Fire and Rescue Company 141, just after 9:30 p.m., crews were called to Route 940 for a brush fire in Hazle Township.

    Once on scene, authorities say the crews found an abandoned mine site scale house up in flames.

    Several crews and tankers had to be called to put out the fire, according to officials.

    No injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
