JD Vance makes campaign stop in Western PA

NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. (WTAJ) — Vice Presidential Nominee JD Vance is set to speak Thursday morning in Westmoreland County.

Vance is making a campaign stop in New Kensington, about 30 minutes northeast of Pittsburgh. Vance, announced in July as former President Donald Trump’s running mate, currently serves as a senator for Ohio.

Vance’s remarks, which will be live-streamed above, are set to begin at 9:45 a.m. from the VFW Post 92. Vance is expected to chat about how a Trump-Vance ticket will support veterans. The event was invite-only.

Both parties have plans to continue visiting the Commonwealth as it serves as one of the battleground states in the 2024 election.

Former President Trump is slated to hold a rally in Wilkes-Barre this weekend while Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will be kicking off a bus tour in Pittsburgh on Sunday.
