    Pittston Tomato Festival tradition to be renamed

    PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A tomato fest tradition will be renamed to honor a beloved community member.

    The Pittston Tomato Festival Parade will now be known as the James Deice Memorial Parade in memory of the late committee member and parade chair.

    41st Annual Pittston Tomato Festival kicks off in Luzerne County

    Deice was a Pittston Area English Teacher and multi-sport coach. He was also a long-standing tomato festival committee member who organized and ran the Tomato Festival Parade for many years.

    The parade will be held on Saturday, August 17 at 11:00 a.m. in downtown Pittston.
