LEHMAN TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The skies were grey but the grounds at Penn State Wilkes-Barre were filled with color, and the air was filled with rhythmic tunes.

Crowds gathered at the college campus in Lehman Township Sunday for the 38th Annual Hayfield Summer Arts Festival celebrating all things creative.

The annual event featured more than 120 artisans, performers, crafters, and food vendors each one captivating the senses of all who attended.

For some though, the best part of the festival is the sense of community.

“Just a great community of people, obviously a lot of families that live in the area little kids alike, and yea a lot of great crafts too,” said Dallas resident Kiersten Kirstnkizis.

Part of the donations support an annual achievement award for arts-oriented Penn State Wilkes-Barre students, public musical performances, and community arts programs offered by other groups in the area.
