    Man missing in West Pittston prompts heavy police search

    WEST PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man has been reported missing in West Pittston prompting a heavy police search Tuesday night.

    On Tuesday officers with the Wyoming Area Regional Police Department were called for a missing person, Paul Kasson.

    Police say Kasson was last seen leaving his house on Spring Street in West Pittston on Monday around 1:30 p.m. to go for a walk.

    On Tuesday night the Wyoming Area Regional Police along with Pennsylvania State Police, and other agencies conducted aerial and ground searches including the banks of the Susquehanna River.

    “I just recently found out and we are very worried and upset and we just want him safe and sound back home where he needs to be with his family,” said Patricia Murphy, Paul Kasson’s sister.

    Kasson was wearing grey sweatpants, a pink t-shirt, a baseball cap that reads Jesus, and black sneakers with a red walker. Officers said Kasson is a diabetic with other health issues and does not have any of his medication with him.

    The search is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or email talktous@regionalpolice.org .
