Central Penn College opening new surgical technology education center in Cumberland County

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Central Penn College cut the ribbon on a newly expanded facility to train new surgical technologists.

The surgical technology education center in Summerdale, Cumberland County has major upgrades, including a virtual reality classroom and a lab that simulates working in an operating room.

“We have always prided ourselves on our business and our health science programs,” said Linda Fedrizzi-Williams, the President of Central Penn College. “This is an entirely new level of health profession. We’re going to be able to support a massive need in our community for qualified surgical technicians, so we’re excited…”
