Vandalism suspect damages 13 vehicles in Luzerne County

HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police in Luzerne County are warning residents of recent vandalism that damaged 13 vehicles.

The Hazleton City Police Department received reports of vandalism in the 85 Block of North Lee Court and the 125 block of East Green Street.

Police say they believe the vandalism took place throughout August 19 and 20 night where 13 vehicles were sprayed on the passenger side with an acid-type liquid similar to paint thinner. Once the liquid dries, it causes the vehicle’s paint to bubble up, significantly damaging it, officers noted.

Residents with security cameras are asked to check for anything suspicious between August 19 and 22.
