    First-year, transfer students move into Wilkes University

    WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — It’s move-in day for first-year and transfer students at Wilkes University.

    Students came to campus with their cars packed up and ready to get settled into their new home.

    Many were assisted by their families, as well as helping hands from current Wilkes University students.

    Revitalization project moving forward in Pittston

    It marks the kickoff to Welcome Weekend, featuring many fun activities for first-year students to get acclimated to campus life.

    28/22 News spoke to first-year student John Falcone who comes to Wilkes from Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

    “Took a nice nap on the drive down, was about two and a half hours, pretty excited to move in, I haven’t really talked to my roommate, I’m excited to meet him as well,” Falcone explained.

    Returning Wilkes students move in on Saturday and Sunday.
