BRIDGEWATER TOWNSHIP, SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— One man has been charged after a shooting Saturday afternoon in Susquehanna County.

According to a release by Pennsylvania State Police, troopers arrested 61-tear-old Thomas Wood, from Montrose, after he shot his mother-in-law.

Officials say they first responded to a domestic incident between Thomas and his wife Shelly, also from Montrose on North Road just before 5:00 p.m.

Troopers learned that after the dispute, Wood dropped his wife off at her mother 84-year-old Janice O’Brien

The release states that Wood then got in another dispute with 62-year-old Thomas Herman, in which he threatened to shoot and kill Herman.

While interviewing witnesses at the North Road address, troopers say they heard gunshots, and found O’Brien with a gunshot wound to her leg in her house.

O’Brien was transported to UHS Wilson Medical center for non-life threatening injuries

The investigation yielded that the bullet came from the direction of Wood’s house.

Wood was charged with Attempted Criminal Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, among other charges.

Wood is being held Susquehanna County Jail without bail. His hearing is scheduled for September 16.
