Police claims ‘deplorable’ conditions after fugitive arrest

TOBYHANNA, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A home with children living inside was found in deplorable conditions during a fugitive arrest, according to police.

Police report while arresting a fugitive Jewels Zachary Jenkins, 23, of Tobyhanna had three firearms that were found all in nonsecure areas of a house in the 4000 block of Burnside Drive.

Inside the home, police describe “deplorable” conditions that include moldy food, trash, and dog and cat feces throughout the residence, as stated in the affidavit.

Three children were living in the residence, according to the criminal complaints.

Through further investigation, officers arrested the homeowner, Cher Rosario, 49, of Tobyhanna, and charged with endangering the welfare of children among other offenses for the “deplorable” conditions of the house.

Jenkins faces the additional charges of endangering the welfare of children.
