EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — We are less than two months away from the November 5 General Election and many political analysts say this could be the largest voter turnout in American history.

Local political experts say Luzerne County is once again a focal point of the national races, which is why Former President Donald Trump held a rally in Wilkes-Barre Township last month and Vice President Kamala Harris will be in Wilkes-Barre on Friday.

Local officials say there are key dates that voters have to keep on their radar if they intend to vote.

“So upcoming we have October 21, the deadline to register to vote for the upcoming election, and the last day to apply for a mail-in or absentee ballot is October 29 to make sure you’re getting your applications in early so you can be sure to have your registration to process and for your ballot to get out in the mail for you,” said Director of Luzerne County Bureau of Elections Emily Cook.
