DUPONT, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A 13-year-old Triboro Christian Academy student is giving back to his community and others in a special way, by hosting a car show.

The money raised will help, two other children who both have the same medical condition that Owen Moraski lives with.

Moraski was diagnosed with dystonia when he was 9 years old, that’s what encouraged him to start a fundraiser for two local siblings living with the same condition.

He learned about the two youngsters through his doctor.

Dystonia is a neurological disorder that causes involuntary muscle contractions. As someone who lives with the condition, Moraski understands what it’s like and wants others to have it a little easier if possible.

“Because I have dystonia and well, I know what it’s like to have it,” explained Moraski.

Moraski’s mom was proud when he came to her with his idea to help others.

“We’re one community and you know we like to help one another, and you know if, hopefully, the services help them as it has helped Owen,” stated Megan Marchetti, Owen’s mother.

Like most kids, Owen enjoys playing games.

“I like playing basketball and playing video games,” said Moraski.

Now he can add helping others to the list

The car show will take place at the VFW parking lot in Duryea from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on September 14.
