NANTICOKE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Charges have been filed in the shooting death of a 17-year-old in Nanticoke.

Michael Crawn Jr., 18, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of 17-year-old Hunter Sipple.

According to the search warrant, on Sunday, September 1 around 4:42 p.m., officers were called to Minden Court in Nanticoke for a gunshot victim.

Three charged in Glen Lyon gas station argument turned stabbing

Police stated once on the scene they found a Crawn Jr. sitting on the steps of the house, holding Sipple, in his arms. Crawn Jr. eventually admitted that he was fooling around with a gun when it discharged and hit Sipple, the search warrant states.

The Luzerne County DA’s Office stated once Crawn Jr. realized that Sipple had been shot he immediately attempted to give first aid.

On Tuesday Crawn Jr. was charged with involuntary manslaughter and the investigation remains ongoing.
