MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A former corrections officer has been charged with bribery after receiving payment for sneaking in a cell phone to an inmate, according to the Monroe County District Attorney.

Officials say there was a warrant issued for Raymond Wilson, 53, of Kunkletown, who surrendered himself and admitted to using an empty deodorant container to smuggle a cell phone into the Monroe County Correctional Facility for an inmate to use in exchange for $1,000.

The district attorney says that is the second arrest of a corrections officer this year for offenses surrounding criminal conduct during their official duties.

Wilson has been charged with bribery, criminal use of a communication facility, and other related charges.

Who the hell snitch. Remember if y’all are in jail/prison it’s not very demure or very cutesy to snitch. 🤣

Corrections Officers are trained for the job. Part of that training involves to be cautious of manipulation by inmates. Inmates have all day and all night with plenty of time to pull off these cons. It wouldn’t surprise me if the inmate set it all up from the beginning with a phone call to the Prosecutors Office stating he ‘has something’ to exchange for leniency. Corrections Officers only need a clean record and a high school diploma or equivalent for employment. Some just are not that sharp.
