SNYDER COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A portion of the Route 11 and Route 35 Interchange in Snyder County will be closed beginning Wednesday.

The Route 11 Southbound exit ramp to Route 35 will be closed while crews work on the project involving a sewage line break that happened Sunday morning.

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection responded to the break near the eastern Snyder County Regional Authority’s sewage treatment plant in Selinsgrove.

Officials say the ruptured sewage pipe is releasing raw sewage into Penns Creek, which flows into Middle Creek and the Susquehanna River.

Officials recommend customers limit the use of their sewage systems if possible until repairs are made.

A detour is in place while work is being performed.

    Crews will work from 7:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

There is no word on when the project will be completed at this time.
