    20-year cold case investigation continues after stabbing kills man

    TOWAMENSING TWP., CARBON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police say they are continuing to investigate a stabbing from 20 years ago that left a man dead.

    According to Pennsylvania State Police Troop N – Lehighton Barracks, troopers continue their investigation into the murder of 45-year-old Amandus Balliet.

    103 charged with public assistance fraud in PA

    Police say the homicide occurred September 12, 2004, on Wintergreen Road in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Balliet lived alone and was killed in his rented mobile home during a stabbing between 2:30 and 5:30 p.m., troopers said.

    Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the PSP Lehighton Station at 610-681-1850 or PSP Tips Stoppers Toll-Free at 1-800-4PA-TIPS (8477).

    All callers to PSP Tips could be eligible for a cash reward.
