Police say a man stabbed another man, one shot fired

ASHLEY, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say a man slashed a woman’s tires and stabbed a man in the head, hands, and shoulders.

Authorities say on September 28, Douglas Lopez Gutierrez, 29, slashed the tires of a woman’s car, making her and a man exit a home in Ashley, where Lopez Gutierrez then stabbed the man after an altercation.

Police say the victim then retrieved a short barrel rifle from his truck and fired a shot into the pavement on the driveway.

The victim allegedly did not mean to fire the weapon, but due to his injuries while lowering the weapon he mistakenly fired a shot into the ground.

Lopez Gutierrez has been charged with aggravated assault and other related crimes.
