    Two Luzerne County brothers face drug trafficking charges

    EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — Two brothers from Luzerne County are being charged with drug trafficking across Northeastern Pennsylvania.

    According to United States Attorney Gerard M. Karam, between August and September 2024, Akilees Kadeem Hobson, 26, of Edwardsville, and Armand Kierran Hobson, 27 of Plymouth, distributed various drugs across Luzerne County.

    Investigators reported that Akilees distributed cocaine and fentanyl over a dozen times in Luzerne County.

    Officials confirm man dead in Pittston Township fire

    On September 12, 2024, Armand assisted Akilees with the distribution of fentanyl, police said. Then detectives stated that on September 25, 2024, Akilees intended to distribute fentanyl and cocaine while Armand was set to distribute fentanyl and marijuana.

    The maximum penalty for this crime is 30 years of prison, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine.
